This was spurred by a 44% revenue hike to $A38 million, which was aided by an increase in the company's customer base through the formation of new partnerships with international suppliers. The growth was also reflected in a significant increase in staff, with Runge employing 82 new people, taking total staff numbers to 250.
An example of this growth in the last 12 months is Runge's acquisition of Minarco-MineConsult, which added 30 staff and a range of new customers to its ranks globally.
Runge managing director Tony Kinnane said looking forward, Runge plans to increase the staff headcount and invest in more research and development and acquisitions in 2008.
"Our key focus is to increase recruitment to keep up with demand in consulting, and we are also investing $A1 million in research and development in Australia to keep expanding the software business," Kinnane said.
"We have aggressive acquisition plans that include leveraging our investor partnership with AMP, which has been a key shareholder since September 2005."
Kinnane said Runge's strategic partnerships with the enterprise resource planning technology SAP and US-based 3D visualisation and data management company ESRI would continue to play an integral role in Runge's growth this financial year.
