Once delivered at the end of 2009, the longwall will start on a 250m working panel at the operation in Puchaczow, near Lublin in eastern Poland, and work up to the 305m panel of seam 385, which is 1.4-1.8m thick.
Included in the chosen system is a Gleithobel GH1600 plow with 2 x 800-kilowatt installed power, designed specifically to realize high productivity in very hard coal.
The mine will also receive a total of 173 roof supports with PMC-R roof support control, each with a support range of 950-2000mm.
The PMC-D drive control and PMC-V visualization for the 2 P45-UEL overload-protected plow drives and the 2 P45-CST (Controlled Start Transmission) face conveyor drives will be included in the setup.
The longwall itself will feature a PF4/1032 face conveyor, PF4/1132 entry conveyor, SK 1111 crusher and an S147600 belt tailpiece with a power supply and pump station supplied.
The plow’s installed power will be 3.3kV – 2 x 210/630 kW, while the AFC will be equipped with 2 x 800kW installed power.
Officials for Bucyrus said the operator opted for the entire system because it could guarantee the mine a rate of 10,000 tons of daily production.
The Polish Treasury owns 97% of the shares in the 3650-worker Lubelski Wegiel Bogdanka.
According to Bucyrus, the producer is planning privatization this year through the issue of new shares to domestic and international investors, though the Treasury will retain its majority position.
Bucyrus, known historically for its surface mining equipment manufacturing, purchased underground OEM DBT in 2007.
