Fifteen teachers will take part in the two-day professional development course.
The workshop, being presented by consultant petroleum geophysicist Rob Kirk, will focus on three topics – Greening Coal, Fossil Sunlight and Riding the Climate Rollercoaster.
Kirk said the aim of the workshop was to increase support to those teaching earth science and climate-related subjects.
“The course will give practical details and in-class activities about climate change, Australian energy issues, and how oil, gas, coal and coal-seam gas are found and delivered within Australia,” he said.
“This includes efforts being made with respect to greenhouse gas diminution.”
