The contract is to manage and resource process works and provide supplementary labour in the Appin mine longwall area.
The contract succeeds the existing contract and takes effect from November for a two-year term with a further one-year option.
Mastermyne CEO Tony Caruso said the scope was significantly larger than the existing contract and would employ up to 230 personnel in peak periods.
“We are very pleased to have secured the contract for a further two years with the expanded scope,” he said.
Mastermyne has enjoyed a strong working relationship with South32’s Illawarra Metallurgical Coal operations and we look forward to continuing that through this contract.
Earlier this month Mastermyne revealed it had been nominated as the proposed contractor to provide all mining services for the life of the underground operations for the development of Australian Pacific Coal’s Dartbrook underground coal mine in NSW.
