The contract is to provide mine roadway development services, which is expected to employ 130 personnel and deliver annual revenues of approximately $20 million.

This scope of works will be delivered as a variation under Mastermyne’s existing contract with South32.

The work will be performed in parallel with the company’s existing contract for the provision of services, which is primarily process works and supplementary labour in the Appin mine longwall area.

Mastermyne CEO Tony Caruso said he expected the combined workforce numbers would average about 280 personnel with increases during peak periods.

The company’s initial contract with South32 began in November for a term of two years with a further one-year option. These development services will be delivered over the same term.
