It has been engaged to undertake roadway development in the gate roads, including initial set up work and conveyor installations.

The project will start mobilising from October and the scope includes the full management and supply of equipment and skilled personnel to execute the works.

The contract will employ approximately 55 full-time personnel and generate revenues of about $33 million over the life of the contract.

The contractor will deploy a continuous miner and ancillary development equipment from its own fleet for the project.

Mastermyne CEO Tony Caruso said the company had placed three continuous miners into operation at various mines in 2017.

“We are very pleased to have secured this new project and we are looking forward to building a strong working relationship with Whitehaven’s Narrabri coal operations,” he said.

“This project builds on the already very strong order book we have for FY2018 with further opportunities still in the pipeline.”
