The annual award recognises collaboration between mining equipment, technology and services providers, mining companies and researchers in the sector.

Visual Ops provides supervisors and crew with context-rich awareness of the location of hazards, people, equipment and tasks, assisting to improve safety and productivity.

Anglo American executive head of operations Glen Britton said this initiative had been achieved through an effective partnership between Anglo American and Commit Works.
“The story of our collaboration began by identifying a clear gap in work management capabilities that no solution on the market could fill,” Britton said.
“Together, we’ve pioneered a series of unique innovations – Fewzion and Visual Ops. Both have delivered results beyond expectations.”
Britton said the team was helping to create a better, safer workplace, achieving record-breaking tonnages and empowering the workforce.
Anglo American Metallurgical Coal CEO David Diamond said the team involved in developing and implementing the technology had implemented a significant improvement to its operations.
“We’re honoured to be recognised by the Australian METS industry,” he said.
“Through our long-standing partnership with Commit Works, we’ve implemented a significant improvement to our operations.”
Commit Works CEO Paul Moynagh said he was grateful to collaborate and work with an organisation such as Anglo American.
“At Commit Works we are passionate about building software that helps ‘hands on’ work teams make commitments to each other and deliver on them,” he said.
“We are extremely grateful to the team at Anglo American for trusting us to design, build and support these products for them over the past five years.

Three joint projects between some of Australian largest mining houses and their supply companies were in contention for the award.
METS Ignited CEO Ric Gros praised the quality of the projects proposed and said he standard of the applications was extremely high.
“METS Ignited is committed to fostering ways to assist METS companies and miners to collaborate towards common goals and create step-changes within the mining innovation ecosystem,” he said.
