New nine-station premium cast lip is a game changer

CR Mining's new DecaEdge DE1545 is a nine-station lip with the potential to last for up to 25,000 hours without major rebuilds, and, as a result, can deliver a 33 per cent reduction in total running costs.

The DE1545 suits mining wheel loader with bucket capacities up to 20m3.

It's a game-changer for companies seeking premium small to large mining wheel loader cast lip systems.

Bold claim? Read on to find out why.

Reduced maintenance costs

"Many applications on wheel loaders in mine sites are plate lips," CR Mining Product Marketing Manager Katie Edser said. "These require maintenance teams to do a lot of hot work around those particular lips, which is a safety risk as well as a maintenance issue.

"Because the DE1545 has mechanically attached G.E.T. (ground engaging tools), our cast lips require less welding and less hot work."

Decreased maintenance requirements result in less downtime, improved safety outcomes, and increased machine availability.

Increased productivity with digital tracking

The DE1545 also has CR Mining's first GET Trakka-enabled lip which allows customers to track G.E.T. digitally.

GET Trakka sensors can be inserted into the available sensor cavity. The sensor is then activated while digging, and if the G.E.T. comes loose, breaks off or gets lost, the operator is immediately alerted and can stop to avoid any further lip damage.

Lost G.E.T. can then be located using a small hand-held scanner and eliminates the risk of G.E.T. entering a crusher and the inevitable damage resulting in costly repair. This avoids the need to shut down mine sites which will enhance overall productivity.

The DE1545 is also compatible with CR Digital's Titan 3330 Load Haul Optimisation system, offering the next level of productivity data.

Built on 1.5 billion tonnes of in-field experience, Titan 3330 can calculate and display bucket and truck payloads, accurately and in real-time, reducing machine damage and health and safety risks whilst increasing productivity.

Combining Titan 3330 with the DecaEdge DE1545 can help customers monitor cast lip and bucket performance, machine health, and truck and bucket payload accuracy that delivers benefits that continue to flow through a mine site's entire production.

Mining by numbers

With our DecaEdge range, miners can expect up to:

  • 7 per cent less downtime
  • 34 per cent strength increase
  • 27 per cent mass reduction
  • 30 per cent reduction in digging force

Additionally, our digital applications, like GET Trakka and Titan 3330, provide an incredible opportunity to collect data that can then be used to:

  • Benchmark current performance
  • Track G.E.T. performance
  • Inform decision making
  • Drive continuous improvement
