The modular process plant designer and builder's input will be a key input into Anax's definitive feasibility study, which is planned to be completed in the second quarter of 2022.
Anax hired GR Engineering Services to complete a scoping study for a polymetallic concentrator to be installed at Whim Creek.
According to the scoping study the concentrator is to be designed to process about 320,000t of pre-concentrate a year.
The feedstock for the concentrator is to consist of primary sorted ore and upgraded fines from the gravity circuit.
A key element of the DFS design process will be to investigate and apply the benefits of modularisation.
Anax plans to design the process plant and associated infrastructure so it can be fabricated and assembled on skids in a factory prior to transportation to site.
It believes this approach will deliver significant benefits and reduce site-related construction risks.
Anax managing director Geoff Laing said he looked forward to working with the Gekko team to deliver a cost-effective modular plant for Whim Creek.
"Modularisation is a key element of the ‘Anax Blueprint', which is expected to deliver leveraged outcomes to our projects," he said.
