Clough developed the layout using the deliverables prepared under the front-end engineering and design study completed by contractor SMS, whose ability to assemble a team in Australia was adversely impacted by COVID-19 related travel restrictions.

The integrated layout includes a beneficiation plant, Tivan processing facility and plant utilities, which will be built near the western boundary of Mount Peake's 1460 hectare mining lease.

The layout is unconstrained compared to the size and shape requirements at the former Darwin site.

Clough CEO and managing director Peter Bennett said the ongoing collaboration with TNG at Mount Peake was exciting.

He said aspects considered for the development of the integrated layout included the flow of incoming and outgoing commodities and optimisation of piping and electrical routes.

The direction of prevailing winds was also checked for noise generation and emission impacts.

TNG managing director and CEO Paul Burton said Clough had done a significant amount of work to complete and deliver the layout in a short space of time.

"Shareholders can see how the new fully-integrated project will look in an impressive 3D fly-through available on our website," he said.

"The completion of this design paves the way for value engineering and final design work to commence, which in turn will underpin an updated capital cost estimate and pave the way for project finance completion."

Clough will move to the engineering and design stage to deliver an updated capital cost estimate for development, which is expected to be completed by May.
