Australian coking coal production of 4.3Mt for the half year was 900,000t higher than H1 2018, aided by the ramp up of production at its Collinsville mine in Queensland.
The company's interest in Hail Creek, which it acquired in August 2018, was another contributing factor to the 26% rise in coking coal production.
Australian thermal and semi-soft production of 38.3Mt was 8% higher than H1 2018, mainly reflecting the additional tonnes from its share of the HVO complex in New South Wales' Hunter Valley.
The company slashed the production of thermal coal for use in Australia 13% to 4Mt in the half year.
