Kalgoorlie bikies' gold-for-drugs plan thwarted

OFFICERS from Kalgoorlie's gold stealing detection unit, local police and the Perth-based gang crime and drug and firearm squads have arrested almost two dozen people, laid more than 50 charges and seized 30 tonnes of gold-bearing ore stolen from Western Australian mines, after uncovering a sophisticated criminal operation.
