Our client 
Tembo Nickel Corporation is the operating subsidiary of Lifezone Metals, developing the world class Kabanga Nickel Project in Tanzania. The strategic agreement between Kabanga Nickel and the Government of Tanzania has solidified partnerships with key stakeholders and local communities to drive the production and processing of this world class nickel deposit onshore in Tanzania. 

The role 
On behalf of Tembo Nickel, MPI are seeking a Chief Resettlement Advisor to lead all aspects of the resettlement project and processes for impacted local communities. This opportunity will be offered on a FIFO 6/3 roster, for a provisional two-year fixed term contract. 

Key responsibilities 

  • Lead and direct all strategic plans, project development, implementation and execution of community resettlement for the Kabanga project. 

  • Liaise with internal stakeholders including operations, legal, environmental and community relations to support strategic alignment of RAP (resettlement action plan) deliverables. 

  • Regularly engage with government agencies, NGOs and other external stakeholders to obtain and manage all necessary approvals and adherence to local regulations and international standards. 

  • Work closely with the community team to deliver the community development program ensuring economic, social and environmental sustainability through all components of the resettlement process. 


About you 

  • Tertiary qualified in a relevant discipline (social sciences, community development, civil engineering, project management). 

  • Minimum of 15-20 years' experience managing multimillion dollar social and/or infrastructure projects, demonstrated record of managing projects where communities are the key stakeholders. 

  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement and management skills with experience across diverse and multi-cultural groups. 

  • Knowledge of Swahili or local languages would be advantageous. 

This opportunity will be pivotal in supporting Tembo Nickel's strategic plans for Kabanga whilst ensuring their principles of strength, community and longevity are applied to ensure shared value creation.
