Qld mining communities get loose change from coal royalty hike
MORANBAH, arguably the engine room of Queensland’s coal mining industry, is only getting a paltry $48.5 million for a hospital despite being a major contributor to the state government’s multi-billion coal royalty haul.

Coal royalty tax revenue exceeded $15 billion last financial year. Queensland government estimates conservatively indicate it will be at least $5 billion this year, although it is likely to be much higher....
