The quarries service areas around Clermont, Middlemount and Dysart and produce about 350,000 tonnes of quarry materials per annum.

Maas has expanded its business from New South Wales into Queensland and operates nine quarries and four concrete plants in the region.

Maas recently acquired local company Schwarz Excavations.

Under the scope of a binding agreement the acquisitions will cost $12.75 million, with up to $2.2 million to also be paid for stock.

Maas Group managing director and CEO Wes Maas said the acquisition was highly complementary to the company's existing operations across Central Queensland and expected to bring significant synergies.
