Chemical company SciDev has expressed confidence in its three-year supply contract at the Ravensthorpe nickel mine as it prepares to ride out the downturn caused by the operation being shuttered.
First Quantum Minerals' decision this week to put operations at Ravensthorpe on care and maintenance comes just over a year into the $9.5 million contract, which involves the provision of Maxiflox chemistry to Ravensthorpe.
Since the announcement of the contract on May 18 2023, SciDev has generated about $2.2 million in revenue under the contract.
In a statement to the Australian Securities Exchange SciDev said it remained actively engaged with Ravensthorpe and was confident it would remain preferred supplier of Maxiflox chemistry for the project, once operations recommenced.
