Scheduled for May 9 and 10 at the Oglebay Resort and Conference Center, the gathering will include the state mining safety awards as well as its Pacesetter awards and the presentation of the Coal Safety Leaders for 2007.
One month later, from June 10 to 12, the national umbrella of the association will hold its meeting and training seminar for 2008. With Lake George, New York serving as the host venue, the gathering will offer safety and health workshops from across the US and spanning all types of mining.
Some of the planned workshops to be held at the Six Flags Great Escape Lodge include Train the Trainer, powered haulage and welding safety and independent contractor training.
New miner training, loss control, MSHA rulemaking, Part 46 safety training, electrical safety and emergency planning are also on the schedule.
