The agreement provides the framework for the two companies to work together exclusively to tender for and secure contracts for the engineering, procurement and construction management of Chinese coal projects in Australia.
The partnership is expected to deliver more competitively priced solutions for clients by utilising selected engineering and procurement services from Dadi in China.
Sedgman managing director and chief executive Nick Jukes said his company is very pleased to partner with Dadi, and the signing of the agreement was the result of recent negotiations.
“We have visited some of Dadi’s coal plants in China, met their senior management and engineers and witnessed innovation in action at their Design Institute. Dadi is obviously one of the most reputable engineering firms in China, and Sedgman is honoured that they have sought to partner with us on Chinese coal projects in Australia,” he said.
“We expect the partnership with Dadi to open doors for Sedgman with Chinese mining companies, and present opportunities on coal projects which we may not have otherwise realised.”
Dadi Engineering Chairman Xie Meihua said Dadi is pursuing a strategy of global expansion through strategic relationships with experienced local partners.
“We are excited to be partnering with Sedgman who are the leading CHPP supplier in Australia, and we believe our partnership will help us deliver on our global expansion strategy.”
