Queensland deputy premier Andrew Fraser reportedly announced on Tuesday Nepean Mining would construct the $50 million hub at the Port of Mackay.
According to local news service the Daily Mercury, the centre is expected to create approximately 400 full time jobs.
The centre will include a manufacturing line, producing conveyors, transfer stations and in-pit crushing.
The news service said the centre would also house a research and development department designed to develop new mining technologies.
Work on the project is tipped to start early this year.
North Queensland Bulk Ports deputy chief executive officer Jeff Stewart-Harris told the Daily Mercury the Port of Mackay was an ideal location for the project.
“This is exactly the type of investment the Port of Mackay is prepared for,” he was quoted as saying.
