A specialised application for mobile devises is helping visitors manage the overwhelming array of exhibitions at the Sydney Showground.

Apple iPhone and iPad users are able to take advantage of the customised AIMEX 2013 App in order to more easily navigate the myriad of displays, get the latest information updates and network with colleagues.

Exhibition organiser Reed Mining Events is touting the downloadable program as a comprehensive and interactive reference for event details, with particular emphasis on its networking possibilities.

Reed notes that visitors can use the app to create profiles with contact details and information about themselves or their companies, with an option to share the information with other app users.

The app allows visitors to plan their visit in advance, with a “favourites” feature to identify and highlight stands they want to see, and “people” feature for organising contacts.

This service is further enhanced by the inclusion of exhibition-related announcements, social media feeds and posts.

AIMEX 2013 App is downloadable for free from iTunes.

It is compatible with iPhone5/4/4G/3G, iPads and iPod Touch 3rd to 5th generation.

Reed has strongly recommended downloading the app prior to arriving at the exhibition, noting that the program allows users the option of downloading all AIMEX content to their iOS device before arrival.

AIMEX has 650 exhibitors covering 50,000sq.m with a focus on the latest innovations aimed at driving increased productivity, cost-efficiency and mine optimisation.

The four-day event is now open and will run until Friday.
