Reed Mining Events exhibition director Paul Baker said AIMEX 2013 would be unmatched in terms of products and services on display, offering visitors a unique opportunity to see the latest technology innovations aimed at increasing productivity and reducing mining costs.

“The mining industry is going through a very rapid rate of change, and is seeking innovative products and solutions that will enhance operations,” he said.

“In the two years since our last AIMEX, the industry has also really focused on productivity and efficiency, particularly with the recent volatility in resources prices globally, and the need to reduce costs.

“In response to this, the emphasis among exhibitors and displays at AIMEX 2013 will be all about innovation; how the very latest processes, systems, services and products can meet miners’ demands for productivity and efficiency gains.”

Baker said AIMEX exhibitors included a wide range of suppliers of innovative equipment, products and services aimed at lowering costs per tonne, and increasing production and mining efficiency.

“These include suppliers of large items of capital equipment, such as ultra-class dump trucks, underground loaders and trucks, longwall equipment and drill rigs, through to processing equipment and systems, as well as training, safety and information management solutions,” he said.

“This high rate of change and product development among suppliers to the mining industry means that visitors to AIMEX 2013 are guaranteed to learn about innovative products, services, processes and solutions that they have not previously encountered.

“This exhibition will truly offer something for everyone who is involved in the mining industry throughout Australia and the Asia-Pacific region.”

Baker expects this year’s AIMEX to have plenty of new developments on show for those with years of experience in the mining industry – while providing a valuable learning experience for new entrants.

“Our industry research has shown that miners want to find out about equipment, products and services that increase productivity and reduce costs – particularly at a time when the mining industry has begun to really focus on cost reduction and cost control with fluctuating commodity prices,” he said.

“We have a large number of exhibitors who will be displaying products and services aimed at specifically addressing this demand.

“In addition, AIMEX 2013 will have around 90 new exhibitors who were not at our previous edition in 2011, and who will be showcasing products and services never seen before here.

“AIMEX always incorporates numerous networking opportunities and the chance to make new contacts, talk to people who are keen to impart their industry knowledge and experience.

AIMEX, at Sydney Showground on August 20-23, will play host to more than 600 exhibitors in an area over 45,000sq.m.
