The company has mainly worked at Anglo American’s Moranbah North coal mine over the past two years but has also done work at the BHP Billiton Mitsubishi Broadmeadow mine and the Cook mine at Blackwater in Queensland.
“When all this started it was mainly for ground support, as the mine found better benefits we used it for roadways than primary-secondary support and VCD controls as it has been proven to be very cost positive,” C&C senior project manager of mining Barry Sturgeon said.
“And now we are finding it is reducing the gas from expelling out of the coal blocks into the returns this has bought the testing at Simtars to get a scientific evaluation on the product all this has been carried out over the past six weeks.
“Returning very good results we have been requested to hold the industry day.”
