Held as part of the 54th annual King Coal Festival in Greene County, the event entitled "Coal-Country-Communities" was rounded out by a Coal Queen pageant, carnival and parade.
Rounding out the top five MR teams were the teams from Cumberland Coal Resources (captain Bob Drzazgowski); Mine 84 (captain Don Krek); Emerald Mine (captain Gary Bochna); and Federal No. 2 (captain John Sabo).
Top position in the bench competition went to Ken Clarke from Mine 84. Also placing in the contest were Emerald mine's Emmett Cox and Jason Detrick in second and third places, respectively.
In pre-shift, Emerald's Tom Bochna took first place. Adrian Gordon with the Mine 84 team came in second and third place was earned by Mark Gouzd of Federal No. 2.
