This year’s program examines recent developments and critical marketplace issues in U.S. and global coal trading markets. The agenda features presentations from both established and new market entrants, as well as industry representatives from the coal, utility and transportation sectors.
“The Coal Trading Conference has become the premier forum for coal traders and utility-coal executives to obtain critical marketplace and strategic intelligence,” said CTA president Brad Speers.
“This event is in keeping with CTA’s efforts to enhance understanding of coal trading issues and to facilitate business relationships between various sectors of the utility-coal business,” he said.
The Coal Trading Conference will examine entrance of hedge funds into energy trading; the growth of coal trading in new products and market participants; rail and permitting issues and its implications for coal traders and globalization of coal trading.
Confirmed presenting companies include the New York Mercantile Exchange, Sempra Energy, Goldman Sachs, Castle Consulting, Koch Carbon, CitiGroup and Ellet Valley Coal Company.
