American Highwall Systems (AHS) offers three models designed to address low, mid and high seam mining conditions. The company said all three models of the AHS system can mine on slopes of up to 30 degrees and achieve penetrations unsurpassed in the industry.
“Additionally, the three models AHS offers are completely interchangeable into the miner mainframe module, eliminating the need for purchasing a completely new system when seam heights change. Using this methodology, AHS’ three models permit operators to eliminate constraints when changing mining seam heights from location to location,” the company said.
AHS is currently manufacturing the first highwall mining system for a mine in Alabama with delivery in October 2004.
Also on display will be the new line of Longwall Associates shields, similar to the shields installed at the Anglo Coal Southern mine in Australia. The shields installed at Southern are 38 tonnes, while the shield on display is around 30 tonnes and will be fitted with Marco controls.
In addition to the range of new products Longwall Associates will show their line of field proven gearboxes, including the LABP 40 that has received industry recognition for the cooling system design, with substantial temperature reduction.
A Chinese line pan, similar to those recently sold to the Daning Mine in China, will also be on display as well as a shearer cutting drum from Longwall Associates sister company, C & A Cutter Head.
The company is also giving away a deep sea-fishing trip to Cape Santa Maria Resort in the beautiful and tranquil South Bahamian Island of Long Beach. The 4-night trip include all transportation, lodging, meals, and fishing. For a chance to win register prior to MINEXPO.
