Chinese mine grabs daily production record

Staff Reporter

The Daliuta mine of the State-owned Shenhua Group has recently set a new Chinese record for daily production - 34,000 tonnes in one day.

The mine's longwall equipment is supplied by Joy Mining Machinery and features a 6LS5 shearer, two 7625 kN shields and an armoured face conveyor. Joy said this was one of three complete longwall systems purchased by Shenhua for the mines at Daliuta, Huojitu and Bulianta.

The Shenhua Group is developing the Shenfu Dongsheng coal field located 1000km west of Beijing. Reserves total 223 billion tonnes of low-sulphur bituminous coal occurring in 4-6m thick seams.

An additional 6LS Joy shearer is on order as well as four 12CM 15 continuous miners. Shenhua mines currently have a fleet of 11 Joy continuous miners.
