Runge won the Smart Award of the Year against more than 100 contenders. Runge said the win showcased the talent in mining technology and innovation available in Queensland.
“This award provides recognition of the contributions from all Runge staff, the processes that Runge follow and the key role of our customers who continue to inspire us,” Runge business development manager Pat Williams said.
The consulting and software specialist said its unique blend of products and services made it a global leader in specialist mine business planning. Runge provides mining support services, software systems and professional development through training to miners.
The services sector represents more than three-quarters of industry in Queensland, contributing $108.8 billion to the state economy, and employing nearly 85% of the state's workforce.
