Called the Sentro D, the intrinsically-safe detector filters out background mono nitrogen oxide gases with gas discriminator technology and consequently helps eliminate false alarms that can disrupt production.
“The Sentro D gives the most accurate carbon monoxide readings possible in environments rich in diesel fumes, which is used as an indicator of fire in some hazardous environments,” Trolex said.
The supplier said the heart of the technology was the eModule.
“The eModule is an intelligent standardised gas sensing module that detects carbon monoxide at levels of 0 to 50 parts per million,” it said.
“Built-in fixed limits are checked against to detect if the sensing element is over or under-sensitive. Two user adjustable alarm set-points allows configurable alarm levels appropriate to a user’s operating scenario.”
