Alpha worker injured

THE West Virginia Office of Miners' Health, Safety and Training has confirmed that a worker has been injured at Alpha Natural Resources' Marfork Coal Slip Ridge number one mine in Raleigh County.

The incident occurred on Saturday afternoon (local time) and the worker was transported to a nearby medical facility.

Inspectors were onsite and additional information will be released upon the findings of the investigation.
