Female success in the mining world

BMA’s Goonyella Riverside mine dragline shutdown project manager, Melanie Gordon, won the Engineering-Women in Industry/Business category.

The award was presented last night by Queensland Minister for Child Safety and Women Margaret Keech.

As the first female appointed to BMA to manage a dragline maintenance shutdown, Gordon also took out the prestigious Queensland Resources Council Resources Award for Women earlier this year.

QRC chief executive Michael Roche endorsed Gordon as an ambassador for the mining industry.
