All large mines of the OKD Mining Company in the Czech coal district are now DBT customers, employing DBT plows, longwall conveyors, shields and other longwall equipment.
The company said the new office has the goal of further deepening and strengthening DBT’s cooperation with Czech customers.
“Both the Czech mining industry and that of neighboring Poland offer DBT good sales prospects in the area of longwall technology,” the company said.
Guests at the opening ceremony included numerous representatives of the OKD Mining Company, the directors and senior managers of the individual mines and representative of partner companies.
Also invited were representatives of the “Svatá Barbora” (Saint Barbara) foundation, an organisation that looks after the families of Czech miners who have lost their lives in mining accidents.
DBT executive vice president Jürgen Krekeler presented a DBT donation of €1,500 to the charity.
