SME 2011, themed "Shaping a Strong Future Through Mining", will return to its home base of Denver, Colorado, for the 140th conference, scheduled for February 27 to March 2 at the Colorado Convention Center.
The 113th National Western Mining Conference will be held concurrently.
In preparation for the gathering, the society has issued a call for papers. The first step of the process is the submission of abstracts, due August 1.
Chosen papers will be selected and authors notified in September, and SME is requesting final manuscripts in hard copy and digital form by November 1.
