2020 the year for CR Digital innovation and expansion

It's been a busy 2020 already for CR Digital with the recent acquisition of Thunderbird Mining Systems which adds blasthole drill optimization and rock knowledge systems and this month's release of their next generation Titan 3330TM Load Haul Optimisation system platform.

CR Digital is the technology division of CQMS Razer and over recent years has continued to build a leading reputation in Australia with their innovative technology solutions, field-proven to maximise mining operation productivity and performance, as well as increasingly securing share in the America's region.

Damian Assaillit, Head of CR Digital believes mining operations are looking to maximise reserves and resources in the ground through next generation technology and real-time data solutions.

"New opportunities continue to open up to measure and boost performance of mining fleets, the appetite for technology adoption that really adds measurable value is as strong as it's ever been, as miners look to optimise performance and utilisation of assets," he said.

Next generation solutions

CR Digital is most well known for their market leading Titan 3330TM Load Haul Optimisation technology range.

Titan 3330TM was a breakthrough for load haul optimization in Australia, using real-time hydraulic shovel payload monitoring to increase average payloads while reducing overloads, delivering improved production across entire haul fleets.

Last year CR Digital celebrated a major industry milestone with one billion tonnes of resources mined by customers using their Titan 3330TM technology globally.

This month, CR Digital releases the next generation of Titan 3330TM platform with a 58 per cent reduction in hardware footprint design for improved installation flexibility. The casing's hard anodised aluminium construction is built tough, offering total protection from dust and high-pressure water. The Titan 3330TM can operate in extreme temperatures and withstand extreme shock and vibration impacts incurred during regular excavator use.

The Titan 3330™ Load Haul Optimisation system delivers key payload performance and machine insights straight to the operator via an intuitive user interface. It is mining tested, proven and ready to deliver results.

Expansion into drilling and blasting technology

In January, CR Digital announced the acquisition of Seattle based Thunderbird Mining Systems, a strategic move that further expands CR Digital's product offering, IP, sales/marketing and technical support activities into the blasthole and drilling markets.

"The timing of the Thunderbird union and build-up of CR Digital's operating presence on the ground in the US and South America couldn't be more favourable," said Mr Assaillit.

Thunderbird Mining Systems are highly regarded in the mining technology sector for their advanced drilling guidance systems and drilling rock knowledge.

Thunderbird's technology is proven to increase mine productivity, reduce drilling costs and improve blasting effectiveness, providing a real competitive advantage for our customers.

Thunderbird Mining Systems has provided world-leading blasthole drill optimisation technologies to mining customers for more than 30 years, pioneering Measurement While Drilling (MWD) technologies.

"With the transaction now completed, we are focussed on effectively integrating our leading global support team to bring existing Thunderbird customers a more holistically supported platform, expanding our Orion data analytics capabilities to bring in the richness of the drilling data and you'll see our offering start to develop quickly through the year as we connect the drilling process with the load and haul process on site.  It's a great opportunity to create unique insights and operational gains for our joint customers," Mr Assaillit said.

On show to the world

In 2019, CR Digital technology was showcased across Australia and America at the Future of Mining events in Sydney and Denver, the ISEE show in Denver and the SME Annual Conference and Expo in Phoenix. This year, CR Digital will take their products for the first time to MINExpo, the world's largest mining event drawing more than 44,000 delegates from across the globe.

CR Digital has evolved quickly over the past few years to stay ahead of the rapid technology adaption in the mining sector, establishing a reputation for innovation and setting itself apart as a leader in mining technology.

"It's an exciting year for CR Digital in product research, development and service support as we lead up to MINExpo in September.

We're looking forward to sharing our success, building new partnerships and showcasing our Titan, Orion and Thunderbird products, technologies and services on the world stage," said Mr Assaillit.
