Jeffreys Find gives up the gold

AURIC Mining is closing in on its first gold pour at Jeffreys Find, with 12,500 tonnes delivered so far to the Greenfields mill in Coolgardie after six months of mining.

That first gold pour is expected by the end of July.

The mine is near Norseman in Western Australia's southeast.

About 90,000t has been mined at Jeffreys Find by Auric's joint venture partner BML Ventures, with 77,500t of gold ore on the run-of-mine pad.

BML is scheduled to deliver an additional 20,000t to the mill to kickstart processing of an initial 30,000t batch under the toll treatment agreement Auric struck in March.

The JV partners will share surplus cash proceeds on a 50:50 basis, after cost deductions.

With a short mine life, Jeffreys Find is expected to be depleted by the end of 2024.

Auric managing director Mark English said mining was going according to plan despite widespread rain in the district over the past fortnight that had hampered haulage to the mill.

"With 12,500t already transported to Coolgardie we are just a short time away from our maiden gold pour," he said.

"Once the first 30,000t is processed it will be clear how this project is going to unfold and I can say both parties are well satisfied with the effort to date."

English said Auric would use surplus cash generated from Jeffreys Find to continue development of the Munda gold deposit at Widgiemooltha and continue with broader exploration.
