Epiroc has whipped the covers off its upgraded DM30 XC blasthole rig aimed at extending its working life, increasing its safety and efficiency and reducing its carbon footprint.
The upgrades include an advanced lubrication system, reinforced components and improved safety features such as the upgraded jack screw or the tower locking reinforcement.
Thanks to the upgrades the rig has reinforced locking mechanisms and upgraded safety features.
Launched in 2022, the DM30 XC came with a 33% power increase on the DM30 II rig platform it was based on.

The DM30 XC boasts a 9.1m drill pipe change and a clean depth capacity of 45.1m, depending on drill pipe size.
It is capable of both single-pass and multi-pass drilling.
It can handle drill pipe sizes ranging from 102mm to 159mm and weight on bit of 20t.
The rig has a hydraulic tophead drive.
