The two-day event on August 21 and 22 at the National Mine Health and Safety Academy is designed for miners, related support groups, mining regulatory agencies and others involved with the planning, design, and use of surface mine haulage equipment and systems.
Some of the topics for discussion include crane safety, crane set-up, and pre-op checks as well as Caterpillar equipment, steering and brake safety, and general pre-op checks; earthmoving tire safety concerns; and bulk truck and explosive magazine safety.
The workshop will begin at 7.30am Tuesday and end at 4pm Wednesday.
