According to local media reports, six of the 100 loaded cars left the tracks at about 2am in on Wednesday in Monroe County.
The identity of the train’s owner was not available.
The train was carrying coal from Carlisle in Sullivan County to Indianapolis, Indiana.
As of Wednesday morning, about 150 were still without power following the incident and clean-up was still underway.
Nobody was injured.
An investigation into why the cars left the tracks has begun.
