MTG SYSTEMS / VEEMET, the new generation of tooth system

As the successor of the well-known STARMET system, VEEMET has been optimized for increased performance and user-friendliness. Besides, VEEMET incorporates innovative features that allow its digitalization and that let it become a totally new generation tooth system.

The new generation of GET

Apart from several new improvements and optimizations, VEEMET can be called the new generation tooth system because of two outstanding features:

  • Larger sizes (≥190) of MTG SYSTEMS / VEEMET are compatible with MTG's GET DETECTION system, which allows GET monitoring and detachment alarms in less than 3 seconds, providing more safety and machine availability.
  • A QR-code on each VEEMET tooth puts up-to-date product information at fingertips of any on-site staff dealing with assembly and disassembly for tooth change-outs or welding adapters, providing the correct information when and wherever it is needed increasing user-friendliness.

Improved stability, optimized locking, and enhanced penetration

Many of the new features are possible due to VEEMET's innovative design. The new, V-shaped fitting with an 80% larger contact area provides more resistance against direct, inverse, lateral and torsional loads. This increased stability contributes to less plastic deformation and makes it possible to reduce the nose size by 5% and to allow longer grooves at the bottom of the self-sharpening teeth which benefits their penetration capabilities.

Another important factor is the optimized locking that facilitates assembly and disassembly and reduces tooth change-outs to only two safe, quick, and easy steps. Newly designed retainers become part of the tooth which reduces locking references. Additionally, the new and more compact way of retainer integration provides more contact area for reinforced pins. This reduces the possibility of pin bending by 52%. The locking comes with a pin that can be inserted from both sides to enable flexibility for the combining with lip shrouds and to always enable a good accessibility. Especially for compact terrain, there are also dual-pins available in common mining sizes.
