Mining industry representatives heard a seminar on Project Management & Procurement Strategy with Barclay Mowlem, Bechtel, GHD and BMA Coal presenting. Special guests included representatives from Anglo Coal, BMA Coal, Comalco, Prime Infrastructure, Aker Kvaerner, Thiess-Sedgman Joint Venture, Queensland Resources Council, Queensland Government and Australian Industry Group.

MESCA has held 117 industry briefings since 1995 alone, with 6700 people attending over this period of time.

Topics at MESCA briefings this year have included Anglo Coal projects, AGD Mining’s gold project, Yancoal’s Austar coal mine project in Maitland, CBH Resources on Broken Hill and Endeavor Mines, the Hail Creek expansion and Arrow Energy’s gas projects in Gladstone.

“Many thanks and congratulations on the event and the 10 year anniversary. The guest speakers were both brilliant and provided all attendees with the right mix of mirth, entertainment and a few subtle challenges about the pressures of the world today and into the future,’ said Mitch Jakeman of Anglo Coal.

MESCA is a dynamic business development association, part of the Australian Industry Group. With over 220 members and growing, MESCA provides the industry with information to assist in optimizing the various opportunities within the mining, minerals processing and energy sector. Part of MESCA’s offering is to stage 25 events annually to enable valuable networking and industry updates.
